One of Vietnam’s most breathtaking natural attractions, is the majestic large twin waterfalls which tumbles down in tiers into the beautiful jade-blue Quây Sơn River.
Bản Gioc Waterfall is one of Vietnam’s most magnificent natural sights. It is the collective name for two waterfalls – Bản Gioc and Detian Falls, on the Quây Sơn River, that straddle the international border between China and Vietnam. It is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Cao Bang province and one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Southeast Asia.
The Detian Fall sits in the karst hills of Daxin County, Guangxi on the Chinese side, and the Bản Gioc Fall in Trung Khanh District, Cao Bang Province on the Vietnamese side. In Vietnamese, the two falls are considered as two parts of Bản Giốc Fall.
It is the largest waterfall in Asia and the fourth largest waterfall along a national border in the world, with over 200 meters (656 f.) wide and a drop of more than 70 meters (229 ft.). Below it, there is a deep pool more than 200 meters (656 f.) wide and over 30 meters (99 ft.) depth.
Surrounded by picturesque karst peaks, its water rushes down a three-tiered cliff and is separated into three falls by rocks and trees. It flows through pastoral landscape of rice fields and bamboo groves, surrounded by limestone pinnacles. The waters’ vertical drop is slight, but the width of the cascades is an impressive sight!
