Designed by Spanish architect, Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926), the historic and unfinished Roman Catholic Basilica, has been under construction since 1882, and is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The interior is held up by a forest of extraordinary designed angled pillars that soar towards the ceiling, then sprouting out a web of supporting branches, creating an impressive forest canopy. The colorful-shaped stained glass windows create a stunning mottled effect with sunlight pouring through branches of a thick forest.
The Nativity Facade is the artistic pinnacle of the building, but the layout of the church and different facades has its own rich symbolic significance.
