Designed by Spanish architect, Antoni Gaudi (1852-1926), the historic and unfinished Roman Catholic Basilica, has been under construction since 1882, and is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its amazingly massive with tall towers fitted with lifts and spiral staircases, for visitors to reach the top and enjoy the breathtaking view.
The interior is held up by a forest of extraordinary designed angled pillars that soar towards the ceiling, then sprouting out a web of supporting branches, creating an impressive forest canopy. The colorful-shaped stained glass windows create a stunning mottled effect with sunlight pouring through branches of a thick forest.
The Nativity Facade is the artistic pinnacle of the building, but the layout of the church and different facades has its own rich symbolic significance.
