The interior is lavishly decorated Baroque stuccoes, three-dimensional mosaic and beautiful motifs, and decorated high ceilings. Central is the large Baroque sculpted canopy over the Papal Altar, and the sanctuary display the symbolic chair of Saint Peter. The niches and chapels are sculptures like Michelangelo’s Pieta.
