Disfrutar is a two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Barcelona, Spain, located in the Eixample, just in front of the traditional Ninot Market. When the Spanish restaurant El Bulli,Restaurants closed its doors in 2011, three of El Bulli’s top Chefs, Mateu Casañas, Oriol Castro and Eduard Xatruch, decided to become business partners and opened a restaurant of their own.
In April of 2012, Compartir was born in the idyllic setting of Cadaqués in the heart of the Mediterranean. With Compartir quick success, the trio opened their second establishment – Disfrutar in Barcelona in December 2014. Disfrutar’s interior is inspired by respect for the Mediterranean’s history and legacy. Its open kitchen, made of soft-pink brick, with white walls of the dining area. An outdoor patio, and although partly covered, projects the warmth of the night air.
The restaurants gastronomic offerings are avant-garde, and take on the form of a tasting menu. Disfrutar, which means “enjoy” in English, deliver brave and playful dishes awash with both flavour and wit. Disfrutar offer a choice between several multi-course tasting menus. The tasting menus are designed to allow guests to feel relaxed,and enjoy the innovative, Mediterranean-rooted cuisine.
At the end of 2015, just a year after opening, Disfrutar earned its first Michelin star, and in 2017 it was also distinguished with Three Suns in the Repsol Guide and with the Second Star in the Michelin Guide 2018. In 2019, Disfrutar was listed 9th on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.
